example: 2/3, first divide 3 into 42, which

equals 14. Multiply the fraction 2/3 x 14/14

4/7, divide 7 into 42 which is 6.

Multiply

4/7 x 6/6 = 24/42.

1/2, divide 2 into 42 which is 21.

Multiply

1/2 x 21/21 = 21/42.
