When XBT cards directing the shipment of stocks are received, the stock control section reviews the cards,
selects the stocks, and obligates the stocks for shipment on DA Form 1298 (Due Out Record). If the RDD for the
shipment does not indicate the need for immediate stock selection, the XBT cards are placed in a suspense file
until stock selection is required. In any event, the DA Form 1298 is posted immediately. See Figure 1-3.
When stocks have been selected, a DA Form 3151-R (Ammunition Stores Slip) is prepared by the stock control
section and forwarded to the surveillance section. The surveillance section verifies the condition code and
suitability of the stocks selected for shipment. The
