8. Non-military publications. Other publications are provided by such federal agencies as:
a. Department of Transportation (DOT), Bureau of Explosives (BOE)(Tariff 6000 Series)
b. Federal Aviation Administration (Code of Federal Regulations 49 (CFR 49))
The publications covered above are used to assist in the management of ammunition support operations within
the Army. Each support function conducted by ammunition personnel will use one or more of these documents.
Now let's look at the subject areas covered by ammunition publications, and list the specific publication numbers
that will be useful to you in each area.
9. General ammunition references:
a. For the most basic information on ammunition items you will refer to TM 9-1300-200 (Ammunition,
General). In this TM you will find a basic description of most ammunition items and their related
components. See Figure 2 for an example of TM 9-1300-200. This TM also covers:
(1) General information.
(3) Small arms ammunition.
(4) Artillery ammunition.
