DESCRIPTION.
a. General. The Model 5261A Video Amplifier, shown in figure 1, is a
plug-in unit which increases the sensitivity of the Model 5345A Electronic
Counter. It provides for measurement of signals as low as 1 millivolt rms
over the frequency range of 10 Hz to 50 MHz.
The input impedance is 1
megohm shunted by 15 picofarad and may be increased to 10 megohms through
the use of a 10:1 divider probe.
An output signal is available from the
front panel for monitoring the Video Amplifier output or for activating
external instruments. This signal is identical in frequency and amplitude
to the amplified signal supplied to the counter input circuit. The maximum
input which can be safely applied to the instrument is 5 volts rms. If you
are in doubt as to the level of a signal to be measured, use an attenuator
as a safety precaution. The Model 5261A retains the accuracy of the counter
in which it is installed.
