TASK
Identify components/schematic circuit components and circuitry of the TA-236/FT telephone set
CONDITIONS

Performance. Given a TA-236/FT, TM 11-468 Extracts, flat-tip screwdriver, and a qualified
supervisor/OJT monitor.
2.
Performance-Oriented. Given Lesson 1 material, pencil, paper, TM 11-468 Extracts, and with no
supervision.
STANDARD
1.
Performance. Demonstrate competency of task skills and knowledge by correctly identifying
seven out of ten components/schematic components and circuitry, within one out of two attempts, of the
TA-236/FT within 15 minutes.
2.
Performance-Oriented. Demonstrate competency of the task skills and knowledge by correctly
responding to 70 percent of the multiple-choice Lesson 1 exercise covering components/schematic
components and circuitry of the TA-236/FT.

COMPONENTS AND SCHEMATIC COMPONENTS OF THE TA-236/FT
1.
Situation: Tactical scenario environmental condition. The soldier is working at a battalion
maintenance facility in support of a post signal facility. One of the tenant post unit has asked for support
in restoring service to TA-236/FT telephones to use instead of a shortage of TA-312/PT for an exercise
presently in progress. Under the stressful tactical conditions, the soldier must be able to perform
measures to restore the TA-236/FT to operational order as quickly as possible.
