Supervise the selection of stocks for issue.
CONDITION:
You will be given a DA Form 581 (Transportation Order) and DA Form
1687 (Notice of Delegation of Authority Receipt for Supplies).
STANDARDS:
The student will supervise the editing of the DA Form 581 for
completeness, validate signatures against DA Form 1687, select the proper
ammunition lots to be issued, prepare a DA Form 3151, and insure proper
posting of the DA Form 581 IAW DA PAM 710-2-2 and FM 9-13.

INTRODUCTION
In order to be successful in any war, we must get the required amount of ammunition to the using units
in a serviceable condition. In this lesson, we will describe the procedures required to issue ammunition
to the using unit, and how we at the Ammunition Supply Point (ASP) determine which ammunition is
issued at a particular time.
In the simplest terms, this process starts with the preparation of a DA Form 581 at the using unit. The
DA Form 581 is then edited at the Supply Support Activity (SSA)/Ammunition Supply Point (ASP) by
the stock records clerk, and signatures on the DA 581 are validated against the DA Form 1687 on file at
the SSA/ASP. If it is determined that the DA 581 is valid, lots
