DOT Placards. In
the interest of
safety, motor vehicles carrying explosives, ammunition, or
other dangerous
articles (as specified in TM 9-1300-206, Table 6-1) destined for shipment over public highways, whether on-post
or off-post, will display four DOT placards. These placards will be displayed: one on the front, one on the rear,
and one on each side of the vehicle. The placard displayed must be the one that designates the most dangerous
item being transported. See Figure 1-11. Placards are displayed to warn the general public of the hazard of the
cargo being transported. Detailed information on placards may be found in BOE 6000.
