MODE A AND MODE B OPERATION OF THE AN/UXC-7
TASK
Receive and send in Mode A and Mode B, load the memory, and use the LDF as a copier.
CONDITIONS
1.
PERFORMANCE. Given facsimile AN/UXC-7, AC or 28 V DC power source, all accessories,
TM 11-5815-615-10 and extract, and qualified supervision.
2.
PERFORMANCE-ORIENTED. Given Lesson 3 material, TM 11-5815-615-10, pencil, paper,
and without supervision.
STANDARDS
1.
PERFORMANCE. Send and receive in Mode A in one of two attempts and within 15 minutes,
load the memory and send and receive in Mode B in one of two attempts and within 15 minutes, and
prepare and use LDF as a copier in one of two attempts and within 15 minutes.
2.
PERFORMANCE-ORIENTED. Demonstrate competency of the tasks by correctly responding
to 70 percent of the practice exercise questions covering Lesson 3.

Learning Event 1:
OPERATE LDF IN MODE A
1.
Mode A Operating Procedures. Mode A operating instructions for the LDF consist of send and
receive operations. The LDF is in Mode A when the MODE/DATA FORMAT switch (Figure 6) is
selected to the MODE A position. Mode A self-test operations are described in paragraph 2-6.3 of TM
11-5815-615-10. Except for self-test, the procedures describe the action required by two operators: one
at the sending LDF, and one at the receiving LDF. The following should be noted during operations:
a. Sending and receiving LDFs have been installed and interconnected as described in Chapter
2, Section II, of TM 11-5815-615-10.
b. If the drum does not accept the document when the RCV or SEND push buttons are pressed,
check to make sure the STOP/START margins are correctly positioned.
