(1) General. The van electrical system includes two basic electrical
All circuits incorporate appropriately designed overload protection and
control facilities described under specific headings later in this
paragraph. The circuits include:
(a) The 24 V DC system, powered by the vehicle batteries.
This
system is used only for the operation of the van body clearance and blackout
lights mounted on the four top outside corners of the van body and the
emergency lights in the van. Connection to the vehicle rear light circuit
is made at the lower left-hand corner of the van body.
(b) The 120/208 V, 3-phase, 60 Hz, system, powered from an
external source. This system is used directly to furnish 208 volts to the
400 Hz converter and air conditioner unit. It is split into three single
phases to furnish power to the 120 volt circuit breakers. Connection to the
van body is by means of a four-wire cable and connector plugged into the
power cable entrance receptacle at the rear of the van body (figure 1).
