(a) Adjusting the HORIZONTAL and VERTICAL GAIN controls (both
R1701) will extend or shorten the time base sweep.
Observing the
range marks will be the best indicator of the change in the length of
the time base sweep.
(b) Adjust the VERTICAL GAIN CONTROL R1701 (Figure 47) slightly
clockwise and then counterclockwise and observe the changes that
occur to the PPI display (Figure 53).

and then counterclockwise and observe the changes that occur in the
