(3) Install stylus pivot assembly and perform self-test as described
on previous page.
e. Inspection.
Inspect the transducer assembly as follows:
(1) Set PUSH FOR ON power switch to OFF position.
(2) Slide carriage assembly and end-of-message assembly to center of
carriage frame assembly.
CAUTION
WHEN REMOVING THE CARRIAGE FRAME ASSEMBLY FROM THE
LDF, DO NOT PLACE ANY STRAIN ON THE FLEX CABLE OR
STEPPER MOTOR CABLE. DAMAGE TO CABLE OR CONNECTORS
MAY RESULT.
(3) Unlatch carriage frame assembly and carefully place in front of
LDF (Figure 2).
(4) Check
transducer
assembly
(Figure
3)
for
loose
or
missing
hardware.
(5) Check that plug P6 on the transducer assembly cable is seated
properly in transducer connector J6.
(6) Install and latch carriage frame assembly in LDF.
5. Scan-optic Assembly
The following instructions provide
information
on
service
and
inspection of the scan-optic assembly:
a. Service.
Service (clean) the scan-optic assembly as follows:
(1) Set PUSH FOR ON power switch to OFF position.
(2) Slide carriage assembly and end-of-message assembly to center of
carriage frame assembly.
(3) Unlatch carriage frame assembly and carefully place in front of
LDF (Figure 2).
(4) Remove dust and other foreign matter from scan-optic assembly
(Figure 4) and clean scan-optic lens with paint brush, NSN 8020-00-263-
3873.
