d. Transducer Assembly Cleaning. Under severe operating conditions
of blowing sand or dust, both the stylus pivot assembly and transducer
magnet must be thoroughly cleaned prior to operation.
Clean the
transducer assembly as follows:
(1) Clean stylus pivot assembly as described on previous page. If
sand or other foreign matter is magnetic, scrape foreign matter from
interior of stylus pivot assembly, being careful not to damage wiring.
(2) Slide transducer cleaning tool part number 950901-1, FSCM 12813,
between transducer housing magnet poles and scrape out foreign matter.
If foreign matter is magnetic, wrap transducer cleaning tool with double-
sided masking tape so that foreign matter sticks to tape.
