MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES
1.
General
This section contains unit maintenance level procedures for
servicing and inspecting minor assemblies of the lightweight digital
facsimile. The maintenance functions (such as inspection and servicing)
are described in Appendix B, Maintenance Allocation Chart, paragraph B-2,
TM 11-5815-615-23.
Chapter 4 of TM contains direct support on
maintenance level procedures.
Most maintenance procedures require the
removal of the front cover.

The following instructions
provide
information
on
service
and
inspection of the LDF:
a. Service. Servicing of the LDF is limited to cleaning exterior
surfaces with a soft, dry cloth.
b. Inspection.
Inspect the LDF as follows:
(1) Inspect housing for secure installation of top cover, tachometer
housing cover, and motor housing cover.
(2) Verify
that
front
panel
assembly
(Figure
1)
is
securely
installed.
(3) Verify that
carriage
frame
assembly
latches
secure
assembly
snugly to housing.
(4) Verify that power connector and I/O connector lock-ring threads
are free of foreign matter, galling and breaks; and that connector lock
lugs are not broken.

Paper Tray Assembly The following instructions provide information
on inspection and replacement of the paper tray assembly:
a. Inspection.
Inspect
the
paper tray
assembly (Figure 1)
as
follows:
(1) Inspect plastic window for cracks or breakage.
