FIBER CONTAINERS
Sometimes the condition of an ammunition box is such that you must open it to inspect its contents. If so, unpack
it only as far as necessary to determine the condition of the contents.
To open a box, you must remove the bands and the lead-wire seal. Remember to ease the tension on the bands
by pushing down on the top of the box. Use metal cutting shears to cut each band along the side of the box.
When the bands are removed, cut the lead-wire seal with pliers. Then turn the latch to open the box. When you
open the box, you should see two black fiber containers (see Figure 1-6).
