(1) High voltage.
(2) High impedance.
(3) Low current.
23. Slot coupling.
a. Slot coupling (sometimes called electron coupling) is used when we
need only a small amount of coupling.
In this method, the stream of
electrons (or the electromagnetic field) is fed through a slot in the cavity
(Figure 81). When used to couple energy into the cavity, the slot is placed
at the point of maximum electric field.

b. When used to couple energy out of the cavity, the slot is placed at
the point of maximum magnetic field, just as we did with loop coupling.
Slot coupling therefore, has the same characteristics as loop coupling.
They are as follows:
(1) High current.
(2) Low voltage.
(3) Low impedance.
