A measurement standard with accuracies
certified by higher level standards.
An Internal Calibration and Repair
Center (ICRC) is used to accomplish calibration at an installation where the
workload Justifies an internal mission.
d. Test, Measurement, and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE)(see figure 2).
Those devices used to measure, generate, gage, test, inspect, diagnose, or
otherwise examine materials, supplies, equipment, and systems to identify
and/or isolate any actual or potential malfunction or, determine compliance
with specifications established in technical documents. Categories of TMDE
are as follows:
(1) General purpose (common) TMDE (TMDE-GP).
Any TMDE that can be
used for support operations of more than one end item or system.
(2) Special purpose (peculiar) TMDE (TMDE-SP).
Any TMDE designed
specifically for support of, and is functionally restricted to, one system
or end item. To use these TMDE for another system's support, modifications
to the TMDE would be necessary.
