This gives us 50 volts across resistor Rch, and also 50 volts between points
(1) and (2) (Figure 27). Remember, we are speaking of the first instant of
time after the switch is closed. The voltage has not yet started to travel
along the ATL.

10. What happens as the 50 volt pulse travels along the line?
We will use four voltmeters to determine how the 50-volt pulse
travels along the line. We already know from Figure 27, that at the first
instant after the switch is closed, there are 50 volts between points (1)
and (2). The direction of travel is shown in Part A of Figure 28.
