c. Special clothing worn at work should not be worn or taken away from
the building.
Special clothing should not be altered except by the
direction and supervision of operating officials.
d. Cotton outer and undergarments should be worn in any operation where
the generation of static electricity would create a hazard.
e. Explosive plant clothing, generally referred to as powder uniforms,
must be fastened with non-metallic fasteners and be easily removable.
Pockets should be lattice pockets.
These garments, as well as head
coverings, should be made from a tightly woven, smooth fabric; they will be
flameproof or flame retardant.

a. The equipment must be cleaned and maintained in accordance with the
manufacturer's instructions.
b. Goggles and eye shields must not be made of nitrocellulose or other
highly flammable materials.

Persons employed in dusty, toxic, or poorly ventilated atmospheres
should be provided with and required to wear approved respiratory protective
devices.
a. The concentration of the atmospheric contaminant will determine the
necessity for such equipment.
b. This equipment will be maintained in serviceable condition.

Check the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) at the ammunition
maintenance facility for completeness. The SOP must include the following
items:
Safety requirements.
Description of work to be accomplished.
Designation of equipment to be used.
Location and sequence of operations.
