PART E - INSPECT BREAK AND SMOKING AREA, PROTECTIVE CLOTHING,
AND STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURE (SOP)

Inspect the change, break, and smoking rooms at the maintenance
facility. Normally the change room and break area are combined.
a. The change room should be equipped with suitable clothing lockers
and an operating shower nearby.
b. If the break area is used as a smoking area, make sure that it has
been approved for smoking by the commander.
c. The smoking area must be separated by an intervening non-combustible

installed electric lighter.
e. At least one class 1A rated portable fire extinguisher must be
provided at designated smoking locations.
f. Persons whose clothing is contaminated with explosives or other
hazardous material will not be permitted in such areas.
g. If a smoking area is not permitted in the maintenance facility, the
smoking area must be separated at least 50 feet from the ammunition and
explosive area.
