c. Install cable (CX-13062) between LDF connector J3 and VINSON junction box J-3513.
d. Connect radio handset to VINSON connector J5.
e. Ensure communications between sending and receiving LDFs.

Initial Setup, Daily Checks, and Self-Test.
a. Initial setup. When the LDF has been installed and interconnected for operation as described
in Section II of TM 11-5815-615-10, and the carriage has been unlocked using the LOCK handle (16,
Figure 6), operations may begin.
b. Daily checks. Perform a self-test daily. Perform daily PMCS as described in Chapter 3, TM
11-5815-615-10.
c. Mode A self-test operation. A self-test should be performed on a daily basis prior to
operation. A self-test may also be used for performance testing and trouble analysis following
installation, when marginal operation is suspected, or following maintenance. Perform a self-test using
the following procedures:
(1) Install jumper plug assembly on signal connector J1 (Figure 7) or have I/O cable
connected.
(2) Set MODE/DATA FORMAT switch (8, Figure 6) to MODE A.
(3) Set PUSH FOR ON power switch (2) to ON position and verify that POWER ON
indicator (1) lights.
(4) Press PAPER RELEASE lever (20) firmly. Insert any suitable test image copy (face-up)
and output copyset on drum (Figure 12) with output copyset in contact with drum surface and test image
copy on top of copyset, then release lever. Margin lamps flash for 10 seconds maximum. Remove inner
protective sheet from output copyset.
