Mounted on the carriage frame assembly are the carriage assembly and end-of-message assembly which
ride on two guide rails. A ribbon cable interfaces the carriage frame assembly to a ribbon cable from a
connector on the LDF chassis.
d. Front panel. The front panel (Figure 3) contains the controls and indicators necessary to
operate the LDF.
e. Jumper plug assembly. The jumper plug assembly (Figure 4) is 3.81 cm (1.5 inches) in
diameter and 6.35 cm (2.5 inches) long, and is attached to the LDF frame by a chain. The jumper plug
assembly is installed on the LDF signal connector J1 only during self-test operation, or when operating
LDFs are interconnected by field wire or public telephone system lines.
