c. Output media. The single-carbon, multiple-carbon copyset or no-carbon required multiple
copyset is media employed to produce a viewable image of the input copy. The LDF also functions with
most available materials (stencils, plastic overlays, transparencies) that respond to mechanical pressure
impression using carbon paper to produce a graphic record. The copyset may have vertical (side)
perforation or top-edge perforation.
d. Capabilities. The LDF performs acceptably when employed for the electronic exchange of
graphic information over a broad range of military field environments and tactical situations. The LDF
imposes no tactical or network limitations when interfaced with voice bandwidth communications
systems. Internal conditioning of the facsimile data stream allows the flexibility that these systems'
interface applications require. Figure 2 illustrates the variety of communications interfaces possible
with the LDF.
