TASK
Identify controls and indicators, and list the technical characteristics of the LDF AN/UXC-7.
CONDITIONS
1.
PERFORMANCE. Given an AN/UXC-7, TM 11-5815-615-10 extracts with all changes, using a
realistic tactical scenario, and monitored by a qualified OJT supervisor.
2.
PERFORMANCE-ORIENTED. Given Lesson 1 material, TM 11-5815-615-10 extracts, paper,
pencil, and without super-vision.
STANDARDS
1.
PERFORMANCE. Correctly identify 16 out of 20 controls and indicators and list the technical
characteristics within one of two attempts and within 20 minutes IAW TM 11-5815-615-10.
2.
PERFORMANCE-ORIENTED. Demonstrate competency of the task skills and knowledge by
correctly responding to 70 percent of the multiple-choice practice exercise examination covering Lesson
1.

EQUIPMENT DESCRIPTION
1.
General.
a. Characteristics. The LDF (Figure 1) enables the transmission of text or graphic information
between both remote and centralized military communications facilities by means of electrical/electronic
circuits. The LDF operates in a military environment employing the wide range of communications
links available to the various military commands. For physical and operational characteristics see Table
1.
b. Input media. The graphic material (input copy) may consist of maps, photographs, line
drawings, printed or typed material, or handwritten messages. Any such item can be transmitted as a
whole or in segments, and a permanent copy is reproduced at the receiving station.
