(1) When TMDE-SP is received for calibration and is determined to be
unserviceable, it will be returned to the owner/user to obtain repair
support.
(2) When a replacement part required to repair a TMDE-GP is not
available in the ATST's maintenance shop stock, parts available from the
owner/user or DS/GS unit maintenance shop stock should be used. When repair
of a TMDE-SP is beyond the capability of the ATST, it will be evacuated to
the ACRC Base TMDE Support Team for repair, calibration, and return to the
user/owner.
(3) Measurement standards requiring AACL calibration (TB 43-180) will
be evacuated to the AACL for repair.
d. Base TMDE Support Team (BTST). The Base TMDE Support team provides
the same services as ATST's.
In addition, it provides GS maintenance
support for TMDE-GP and ATST measurement standards listed in TB 43-180 as
requiring ATST calibration. The BTST is a work section of the calibration
laboratory.
The secondary transfer calibration and repair set is set up
usually in a shop area.
(1) The procedures outlined in paragraph a above will be followed for
organic instruments.
(2) The procedures outlined in paragraph c above apply for supported
instruments.
(3) As a GS maintenance activity, backup maintenance support for
ATSTs will be provided.
Issue of direct exchange TMDE-GP stocks will be
performed.
Recommendations applicable to unserviceable, uneconomically
repairable TMDE-GP will be made.
e. AACL.
The AACL calibrates and repairs TMDE-GP and measurement
standards that are listed in TB 43-180 as requiring AACL calibration. The
AACL also calibrates TMDE-SP that are listed in TB 43-180 as requiring AACL
calibration.
(1) The procedures outlined in paragraph a above will be followed for
organic instruments.
(2) The procedures outlined in paragraph b above will apply for
supported instruments. Where paragraph b above is oriented to TMDE-SP for
DS/GS units, AACL's will interpret the paragraph to apply to AACL
calibration support for TMDE listed in TB 43-180 as requiring AACL
calibration. That paragraph will also be interpreted to mean repair support
for TMDE-GP and measurement standards listed in TB 43-180 as requiring AACL
calibration.
(3) When repair of a TMDE-SP is beyond the capability of the AACL,
issue of a replacement from direct exchange stacks will be
