g. During its visit, the transfer team will also provide technical
advice to supported units on the use and maintenance of TMDE and the use of
calibration regulations, TM, TB, etc.
h. When the calibration of a supported unit's TMDE is completed, the
transfer team will perform a cross-check on its calibration standards to
insure that the standards are still within tolerance. The team chief will
then inform the commander of the organization or facility whose TMDE was
calibrated that the certification of the supported unit is valid. The team
chief will provide the supported unit commander with a list of items that
were repaired or red-tagged. A similar list will be provided to the platoon
headquarters ASAP or upon return of the transfer team to the calibration
company area. Before leaving the supported unit's area, the team will again
communicate with the platoon headquarters. It will then proceed to the next
supported unit on its itinerary or will return to the secondary reference
laboratory.
i. Before returning to the secondary reference laboratory, the transfer
teams may have to revisit a specific unit or units to calibrate equipment
that was red-tagged on its earlier visit and which has subsequently been
repaired. Supported units notify the platoon headquarters of the repair of
such items and the platoon headquarters will direct a revisit by the
servicing transfer team if practical.
j. After all supported units on its itinerary have been visited, the
transfer team returns to the secondary reference laboratory.
The team's
secondary transfer standards are once again cross-checked or calibrated to
insure that they have not deviated beyond their specified tolerance. If the
secondary transfer standards have not deviated beyond specified tolerances,
the calibration cycle is considered complete.
k. In the event that the cross-check or calibration of transfer
standards indicated a standard outside the specified tolerance, an analysis
be taken to advise all organizations with TMDE for which calibration is
questionable.
A recalibration of suspect TMDE will be immediately
rescheduled.
l. Transfer teams will perform cross-checks on their secondary transfer
standards as required by TB 750-25 and described in TB 9-4931-401-0. These
cross-checks are functional comparisons between calibration standards to
verify that no gross departure from tolerances has occurred.
The cross-
checks will be made before any calibrations are performed at a new location,
after all calibrations are performed at a location prior to moving, and any
time the accuracy of an instrument is suspected.
m. While the transfer team awaits completion of processing
and
redispatch on another loop, team members attend to personal needs and
