Learning Event 7:
ALIGN ANGLE VOLTS

Learning Event 7 will enable you to identify and locate components on
radar set AN/FPN-40.
It will provide you with the knowledge necessary to
demonstrate the function and use of the angle volts demodulator and its
alignment, along with the operation of the elevation clinometer. The angle
volts demodulator alignment of radar set AN/FPN-40 is performed to ensure
the proper detected signal is applied to the cursor-generating circuitry and
to the synchronizer-generator, electronic marker SN-386/FPN-40 to provide a
vertical sweep on the cathode ray tube (CRT) during precision operation.

The location and initial settings of the components and controls used
in this learning event are given below.
a. Locate and identify the receiver-transmitter group (R/T group) OA-
