b. Expanding van body.
NOTE:
The following instructions for expanding and retracting the van body
are limited to one side of the van body since the procedure is identical fur
both sides. Never expand or retract the van body by pushing or pulling the
side panels. Pushing or pulling the side panels will cause mis-alinement of
these panels and this will prevent obtaining a good weather seal.
Always
use the drive mechanism to expand and retract the side panels.
(1) Release ladder toggle clamps and remove ladders from van rear
doors.
(2) Lower lift gate.
(para 4).
(3) Open rear doors and remove side panel lock wrench and retractable
beam drive shaft wrench (figure 9) from inside left rear door.
(4) Release both front and rear side panel locks (figure 10) with
side panel lock wrench and by removing looking pins from locking lever.
Release the locking lever.
(5) Release

(6) Expand side panel to full extent of travel with drive shaft
wrench (figure 10).
