Power tail gate
(1) Apply handbrake (10) and start engine.
(2) Place transfer selector lever (11) in N (neutral) position.
CAUTION
When using power take off (PTO)(9), place transmission selector lever (8)
only in N (neutral).
Any other gear position could damage transfer
bearings. Be sure ladders have been removed from liftgate.
(3) Depress clutch pedal (12), place transmission selector lever (8)
in N position, release safety latch on PTO control lever (9) and move PTO
lever forward to ENGAGED position. Release clutch pedal (12).
(4) Use hand throttle control on instrument panel to set engine speed
at 1,000 to 1,200 rpm. The PTO must never be operated at higher rpm as that
would destroy the bearing and seals in it.
