SUMMARY.
In this lesson we have stated the concepts, theory,
parameters, and before, during, and after cross-checks of standards. Cross-
checks are valuable and, if used wisely, will greatly aid the calibration
program, increase the reliability of standards, and help identify any
potential trouble areas.
Care should be used in maintaining cross-check
records,
and
they
should
be
analyzed
frequently
for
trends
and
discrepancies. The more time the record covers (table 3), the more it may
help to pinpoint common points of failure for particular standards.
