TMDE on hand capable of, and used to determine the operational status of the
major item or system it is used to support.
On-call TMDE calibration and
repair service is an unscheduled service provided on an "as required" (or
demand) basis.
(1) On-call service for CRITICAL TMDE-GP and selected TMDE-SP which
are the responsibility of an ACRC (TB 43-180-1) will be provided by the ACRC
responsible for the support area where the TMDE owner/user is located.
Service may be provided by replacement with a TMDE from direct exchange (DX)
or maintenance float stocks-by evacuation to a mobile or fixed facility
ATST-or by evacuation to the Base TMDE Support Operation of the ACRC. The
method determined to be most expeditious by the ACRC for repair and return
of the TMDE to the owner/user will be used.
(2) On-call support for unserviceable CRITICAL TMDE-SP which is the
responsibility of DS/GS or AVIM units (TB 43-180-1) will be provided in the
same manner as outlined above for ACRC's, except the service will be
provided by the TMDE-SP owners/users supporting DS/GS or AVIM unit.
l. TMDE Support (Calibration and Repair) Coordinator.
Each command,
installation, and unit that uses TMDE will designate (in a written
communication) a competent individual as a TMDE support coordinator (AR 750-
25-1). The coordinator will serve as the point of contact for all matters
pertaining
to
TMDE
calibration
and
repair
required
by
the
command/installation/unit. The coordinator will be assigned responsibility
for, and delegated authority to monitor the command's/installation's/unit's
That support
services will be consistent with AR 750-25-1 and TB 750-25-1. Upon request,
ACRC's will provide orientation for TMDE support coordinators.
11.
MAINTENANCE FLOAT OCONUS.
a. The maintenance float concepts for new materiel will consider and
indicate whether maintenance float TMDE is proposed.
The decision to
provide maintenance float TMDE, approval of float quantities, and
distribution will be made as a part of the materiel acquisition decision
review.
This review recommends type classification of the materiel for
quantity procurement IAW AR 750-1.
USAMCC will take part in the TMDE
maintenance float decision process. Maintenance float TMDE falls into two
categories: "operational readiness float" and "repair cycle float."
b. Maintenance float TMDE will be issued to and maintained by OCONES
ACRCs as the central distribution point for supported activities within
their assigned geographic area. Maintenance float assets may be issued by
ACRCs to supported activities to replace like items of TMDE which cannot be
repaired in time to meet operational readiness needs of the activity.
