Net Explosive Weight and Compatibility
Check the explosive limit of the magazine. This limit establishes the maximum amount of
explosives that are allowed in the magazine at any one time. Check the net explosive weight (NEW) to
ensure that the explosive limit of the magazine is not exceeded. Most standard magazines hold either
250,000 pounds or 500,000 pounds of NEW. You will probably need a calculator to determine if the
NEW is within the limit or exceeds the limit. If you are unsure about the magazine NEW, check with
