c. Locate and disengage the release handles of the synchronizer-
generator, electronic marker SN-386/FPN-40 drawer and pull the drawer
forward until it reaches its mechanical stops. Restore power by pulling the
interlock switch to its most forward position (Figure 29).

NOTE:
An interlock serves as an ON/OFF switch.
Because of its
design, the interlock provides additional functions.
First,
it removes the power from the unit when the operator opens the
panel or drawer.
This provides safety for the operator.
Secondly, when testing is required by the repair person, it
restores power to the unit when placed in its forward
position.
