consisting of a platoon headquarters and a variable number of secondary
transfer teams dependent on the density of supported equipment, and two
secondary reference laboratories, each consisting of a laboratory office, a
(a) At full strength (level 1), the Tactical Support Calibration
Company provides secondary reference and secondary transfer calibration
support for units in the support area.
(b) At reduced strength (levels 2 and 3), TOE 9-567 operate(s) at
reduced
capabilities by reducing the number of transfer teams in each
company.
(c) The tactical support calibration company's secondary reference
laboratories have organized environmental control modules and generator
The modules must be erected in permanent structures which
will protect the modules from weather conditions. Each secondary reference
laboratory can provide secondary reference calibration service to 10
secondary transfer teams. The secondary reference facilities are considered
semifixed after establishment.
It should be remembered, however, that
relocation of such a semifixed laboratory would require considerable time
since permanent building location, disassembly and reassembly of the module,
(d) The secondary transfer teams are 100% mobile.
(g) Each secondary transfer calibration team can support an
average of 4,000 items for calibration and/or incidental repair per year.
Each team can support approximately 1,333 items in a 120-day period. The
preceding figures are based on an average breakdown of calibrations in the
(2) Functions.
(a) Company headquarters.
The headquarters provides the command
element and overhead personnel to provide the necessary administrative
services, food service, unit supply, and organizational maintenance.
The
headquarters also includes quality assurance personnel who insure the
adequacy of the company's calibration service.
This office maintains close liaison with
the operations section of the battalion headquarters section.
The
operations office:
1) directs all calibration activities of the company,
